Barclays Internship Experience

Company & Role: I joined Barclays as a Technology Intern with the Group Technology Service Management (GTSM) team. I am a 2027 graduate from Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering at PICT. I was selected through the college recruitment process and joined the internship in June 2026.

Application & Selection Process: The selection process involved an online assessment followed by technical/interview discussions. The assessment focused on programming, problem-solving and technical fundamentals, while the interviews covered my resume, projects, technical concepts and general behavioural questions. Overall, the process was moderately challenging and required clear understanding of fundamentals rather than memorisation.

Overall Experience: My experience at Barclays has been very positive. The internship has given me valuable exposure to a professional technology environment, industry practices and collaborative ways of working. Being part of the GTSM team has helped me develop both my technical and communication skills and understand how technology supports a large global financial institution.

Preparation & Tips: Candidates preparing for similar roles should focus on DSA, programming fundamentals, OOP, DBMS/SQL, OS, Computer Networks and projects mentioned on their resume. Regular problem-solving practice and strong understanding of your own projects are especially important. During interviews, communicate your approach clearly and be confident while answering.
